Get the Q's & A's about how to successfully beg online.
Q: How do I beg online?
A: iBeggar.com makes it simple to beg for money online that matters to you the most. From paying off bills, wedding expenses and everything in between, creating your donation page is as easy as 1-2-3!! Go to the "HOW IT WORKS" page to learn more!
Q: How do I accept donations online?
A: With iBeggar.com, accepting donations is built in with PayPal. However, in order to receive donations, you must provide a PayPal email address when creating your post. If you don't you will be unable to receive any donations.
Q: How do I know if anyone has sent me a donation?
A: Whenever you receive a donation, you will get an email from Paypal. This will let you know if anyone has donated to you. You can also check your PayPal account periodically for donations because as we all know, sometimes emails get lost through filters or mixed in with your other emails.
Also, you can always see the amount of donations you receive by going to My Profile after you login to your account. Under "My Profile" in the Account Status box, you will see stats about your beg postings. The last two stats show the "Number of Donations(s)" and "payments received".
Q: Do my donors need to sign up for iBeggar.com?
A: No. Absolutely not. When a donor wants to donate to you, they will be directed to PayPal. On PayPal, they have the option of just filling out their credit card information or just using an existing PayPal account to donate to you. The PayPal service allows people to send money safely and securely without sharing financial information, with the flexibility to pay using their account balances, bank accounts, credit cards or promotional financing.
Q: Can I use any method like social media and email to promote my donation page?
A: YES, INDEED!!
Q: I am not located in the United States, can I still create a donation page and receive donations?
A: Absolutely. Unlike some cyber begging sites who use other donation processing platforms that only work in the USA, iBeggar.com uses PayPal. PayPal is the faster, safer way to pay and get paid online, via mobile devices and in store. With more than 123 million active accounts in 190 markets and 25 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global commerce.
Q: What about taxes?
A: We're unable to provide specific tax advice since everyone's situation is different. While this is no means a guarantee, most donations on GoFundMe are simply considered to be 'personal gifts' which are not taxed as income in the US.
Additionally, only donations made to a legally registered non-profit or charity may be considered eligible for donors to claim as a tax deduction. Again, every situation is different so please consult with a tax professional in your area.
Q: How quickly will my page be up?
A: Unlike some cyber begging sites your donation page is up and running immediately after you Post your Beg and you ready to receive donations ASAP!
Q: How much money will I get from donations?
A: The amount that you get will vary from person to person. It depends on things such as your story, your headline and plain luck as at any point you can get that one big donation of $100 or more. It is estimated that 80% of donations are $10 or less, but all small donations do add up.
How many donations you will receive also depends on if you are willing to do some of the leg work yourself by promoting your donation page to others. Share your donation page with your email contacts, your family, friends, and relatives. Your donation page has a Social feature where you can click the Facebook Share and Tweet buttons. You can also use the "Share This" feature on your donation page to promote it to other social media sites.
Your donation page may be seen by people who browse our website and your page might get listed in the search engines, but this is not enough. You will have to look at this as the same way as trying to raise funds for a charity walk. You have to approach as many people you can to sponsor your charity walk to raise enough donations for your cause.
SHARING your donation page every where you can will dramatically increase the traffic to your page and the donations you receive will increase!
Q: Why do I seem to be receiving spam emails from people that I'm not sure are legit?
A: iBeggar.com will never give out your email address. Unfortunately, Paypal displays your identification on their payment page. When people visit iBeggar.com, and click on your donation button, your name OR email address will show up on the top of Paypal's donation page. If you want to display a name INSTEAD OF your email address, you can change settings in your Paypal account under Profile > Business information. Once you've done this, spammers will not be able to find your email address.
Q: Do you take a percentage of my donations?
A: Absolutely not. Every donation goes directly from the donator to you. This is one of the appealing features of cyber begging and the reason many people choose to donate to our individual visitors after reading their honest and real pleas for help, rather than to big foundations where very little of the donation actually makes it down to the intended cause.
We take absolutely no percentage of your donations. There is no middle man; all donations made to you go directly to you via PayPal, which you can then transfer to your bank account.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: The monthly fee is only $5 US. This will never go up in price. There are no hidden fees, no search engine fees and no activation fees. We do offer options such as bolding your headline or making you headline a red color, both of which have small fees but these are 100% optional.
Q: How do I Unsubscribe?
A: You may unsubscribe anytime by going to your My Begs page.
1. When you are logged in, click on your "Welcome (Your Name)" button located at the top right-hand corner of the page.
2. Click on "My Begs".
3. On your "My Begs" page, click on the Unsubscribe button on the right-hand side.
